What is mock trial?

Mock trial is a competitive simulation of a real trial case. Each year the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) prepares a fictional case with witness statements, case law, and exhibits. Students become attorneys and witnesses, writing direct and cross examinations in preperation for competition. Teams build a case for both sides (plaintiff/prosecution or defense) and compete by delivering their presentations in a courtroom setting against other colleges.
